Just a Thougt

I wrote this sometime in 2016 as a response to the wish of Trump to become the greatest president. I ran into it today and decided to publish it as just a thought:

The United States of America were not created by strong governments. All good changes we could observe in the society were brought by grassroots movements, resistance and initiatives of the people. The one who wishes to be a great president has to follow the examples of Lincoln, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and Kennedy. Lincoln took out slavery after many years of abolitionists’ movement; Roosevelt brought the country back from the great depression by building roads and parks, and restoring middle class; Eisenhower stopped the fascism of McCarthy thanks to acts of people like Ed Murrow and many others; and Kennedy, who started to fight the banks, was not lonely either. Those great presidents wouldn’t be able to do what they did without the people of this great country. The great president can’t be great by himself, the great president reflects the great people. By bringing racism, bigotry, and hate a person can’t become a great president. However, the one who can recognize the needs of today by listening to the grassroots movements might.
